I'm going to add a list of blawgs I regularly enjoy. If you are on there and don't like it, please send me an email and I will pull the link. Or just make a comment here.

O.K. It's official. I joined the ranks of insanity today. I gave my 3 week notice. There goes a secure paycheck I've gown accustomed to for 4 years with this company. My wife has gotta love that. Seems logical. Trade it for three years of labor that I pay to attend. Sanity check please.

Video cams pointed at airline passengers at all times.

I'm SURE there will be some interesting footage there. As long as the tapes aren't copyrighted, they'll make perfect uploads! ;) (see yesterday's post)

I'm a little torn between wanting to make sure that flights are potentially safer and not wanting to know that some security guard is snickering at footage of me drooling during an in-flight nap. Although, I wouldn't mind downloading a clip of Arnold Schwarzenegger sleep slobbering. I think I could find the humor in that. Arnie upon being awakened by passenger with wet shoulder: "I vasn't trooling. Somevone bumped my Dasani!"

I suppose public flights are public domain, so I can understand the basis for doing this. It just seems a bit creepy.

This seems a bit severe to me. Up to 5 years and $250,000 for a $15 CD? Granted, more than one person will probably download the file, but for a first time offence, this seems over the edge. If it is true that, "It [the bill] criminalizes the placement of any copyright work on a computer network.", then you would need to keep a close eye on your computer if you are a part of a publicly accesed or P2P network.

Oh yeah, ya better not take a video cam into a movie theater either. Same penalty applies. I'm sure my point of view will be changed for me when school starts in 3 weeks.

I hope that I don't offend anyone by referring to another blog. I'm new to the realm of bloggery and am an admitted neophyte to the ways of the blog-wise. If it peeves anyone, lemme know and I'll yank it. That being said, I have found a new absolute favorite slang exclamation from Cicero's Ghost. I've always passed Quizno's up for Subway, but after "Sweet Methodist Jesus", you better believe I'm going there now. Pardon me while I wipe the laughter tears!

Back from vacation. I have never slept so much in my life. With naps and sleeping in, my body attempted to make up for getting 4 to 6 hours of sleep a night for the last 4 years.

The sand and surf were really nice. It must be mating season for the dolphins (porpoises, whatever) since there were dozens cruising up and down the shoreline embroiled in frenzied “battle”… wink-wink, nudge-nudge… So many in fact, that we could float out to the invisible waterway they traversed and watch them frolic from all angles. They never seemed to get within more than 10 – 15 feet of us (unless they were closer underwater). It was a treat, though, to see them launch into the air right next to us. In between silly bouts of singing the theme song to “Flipper”, I thought to myself, “What if all those fins don’t belong to dolphins?” Funny now, not so funny in the water.

I packed an entire suitcase of books for the trip (yes, I’m that stupid). Most of which were those from my previous posts. Law school type stuff. What did I actually read? ONE BOOK!!! And not all of that! To top it off, it wasn’t even remotely law related. Yup. Another DragonLance book. “Time of the Twins”. So. This is where I start to panic. Four weeks and I begin the most grueling, demanding academic pursuit of my life. And what did I do for an entire week with no work related responsibilities? I read ONE BOOK! I have read many blawgs out there that intimate that there is little one can really do to improve one’s lot in the seemingly semi-random free-for-all called grades. This does little to quell that growing panic-to-be in my gut. Well, I’ll tell you what… when Prof. Torts starts to indoctrinate me with her Socratic sophistry regarding types of negligence, I can dazzle the class with my unparalleled understanding of fireballs, dragons, and ogres.

should I be concerned that uscourts.gov has already visited this blog?
Things I need to get done before school starts:

1. Finish tapes and books
2. Get a better grip on effective outlining and exam writing
3. Submit special circumstances form to Financial Aid office
4. Tender 3 week resignation (3 is fair, right?)
5. Get books for courses

Classes this fall:

Contracts
Torts
Legal Writing and Analysis
Civ Pro
Property

I will be on vacation July 4 – 13 for the first time in ages. Hooray Emerald Coast!

Two things I need to keep in mind while there:

go against the grain

stay out of the water dusk and dawn

I will be checking my e-mail and hopefully updating Patent Defect during this time. Drop a line if you like: patentdefect@yahoo.com
